New York Film Academy Student Wins Best Actress Award




NYFA students Wioleta Komar in solo performance “Diva”
New York Film Academy congratulates student Wioleta Komar on receiving the Best Actress award during the United Solo Theater Festival 2011. Wioleta performed solo performance “Diva,” written by Magdalena Gauer and directed by Stanislaw Miedziewski. The show follows Nora Sedler (played by Wioleta) who escapes the Holocaust and becomes a world famous opera singer. Years later, Nora receives a note in her dressing room that is signed from a man with the same surname as the Polish family who saved Nora’s baby when she fled.

Comments Wioleta, a current one-year acting student at NYFA’s New York location, ”Ever since I am a NYFA student I learn many new things about being on stage, being in a moment, I learn new techniques of communication and connecting with partners. It is so new to me and very helpful. I am glad that I can share my experiences and at the same time experience new things and and incorporate them into my solo presentation.”
